How old must you be to shoot?
Gun Fun allows persons from the age of 12 years old (accompanied by a parent / guardian) to participate in the Save the World indoor shooting package. Save the World has been specially designed for kids for kids to learn about firearms and have fun in a safe and controlled environment — but please remember that safety is always our number one priority.
Gun Fun takes safety and education very seriously. Before you can step foot on the range, all participants will undergo a comprehensive introduction to gun safety and the fundamental basics of shooting. Here, you’ll learn how to hold a gun, how to aim, and where to place your finger when not pulling the trigger. And, with smaller hand-held guns and a closer target range included in your experience, Save the World is the perfect beginners package for those who want to shoot alongside their parents or who are just getting interested in the exciting world of firearms.
South Africa has strict gun laws and firearm regulations in place. To maintain the safety of Gun Fun’s indoor shooting range, visitors under the age of 21 will only be permitted to shoot or purchase a shooting package if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If accompanied by another adult (21+), a permission letter and a copy of the parent or guardian’s ID will be required.
What’s Included in the Save the World package?
Two lightweight, hand-held firearms are used for Gun Fun’s Save the World shooting package. The first gun, a 0.22 Colt M4 with 20 rounds of ammunition, uses a rotating cylinder that holds up to 6 cartridges. This Revolver is popular for self-defence and close-range target shooting, as it is relatively lightweight and uses a simpler mechanism compared to semi-automatic guns.
The second gun, a 0.22 Pistol with 20 rounds of ammunition, uses a detachable magazine that can hold more cartridges than a revolver. Magazines can also be swapped for faster reloading. While semi-automatic pistols have a more complex mechanism than revolvers, they are a popular choice for self-defence, target shooting, and competition shooting (due to their faster firing capability).
