Sadly, all five rhino species are endangered and are facing the threat of extinction due to relentless poaching and habitat loss. The Saving Private Rhino Organisation is dedicated to safeguarding Africa’s rhino population through direct anti-poaching efforts. Established with the mission to provide immediate and sustainable solutions to the rhino poaching crisis, this non-profit organisation supports conservation initiatives, trains anti-poaching units, and ensures the safety and preservation of rhinos in private game reserves and community-owned conservancies across Southern Africa.
Did you know that private game reserves now conserve half of South Africa’s rhinos? Wildlife conservation work and anti-poaching patrols are an expensive though necessary endeavour, and its up to members of the public, conservation groups, and even the businesses of South Africa to help conserve and protect our incredible wildlife heritage.

How Your Support Can Help
Saving Private Rhino is on the frontlines against rhino poachers in the Western Cape. Following a horrific poaching attack in 2011, which saw the cape’s first white rhino in over 200 years targeted by poachers, the Saving Private Rhino organisation rose up to defend our rhinos — our real-life unicorns.
Your support goes towards various anti-poaching and rhino conservation initiatives, including the vital rapid response team, veterinary experts, and a 24-hour anti-poaching hotline. SPR is the first to respond to rhino poaching incidents in the Western Cape. With one of the best anti-poaching success rates in Southern Africa, the team is equipped to help save critically injured rhinos and track or apprehend wildlife poachers.
The Orphaned Rhino Calf Project
Other essential services provided by the Saving Private Rhino team and the Animal Rescue Centre (ARC), include the Rhino Orphanage and Rhino Rescue Centre, which help rescue and rehabilitate rhinos that have been orphaned or injured as a result of poaching.
Saving Private Rhino is also renowned for its anti-poaching courses and wildlife surveillance services offered to wildlife reserves and private game farms across Southern Africa that do not have the necessary funds or means to protect their rhino populations.
